Maui’s Premier Cultural & Dining Event
Old Lahaina Luau takes great pride in the authenticity of their Hawaiian luau, not just the food portion, but traditional Hawaiian music, cultural dances (hula), and island crafts.
If you have read anything about luaus in Hawaii, more than likely you know the name “Old Lahaina Luau” as it is the benchmark by which Hawaiian luaus are measured.
This is an award-winning cultural experience that has been written about by every travel magazine and travel program, and with good reason. A six-time winner of the prestigious “Kahili Award,” Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau and a five-time winner of the “Best Luau” category, Best of Maui; “The Best Place To Go On Maui,” Eyewitness Travel Guides; “The Best Luau You Will Find,” Fodor’s Guide; and Frommer’s Maui quotes: “Its authenticity, intimacy, hospitality, cultural integrity, and shear romantic beauty have made this one of Maui’s top luaus.”
Starting with the location, guests relax oceanfront under tropical skies and thatched roofs among the swaying palm trees. After an amazing sunset, tiki torches provide the light and a setting to let your imagination drift back to a time long ago.
When you enter the luau grounds the hospitality and intimacy begins at once. This combined with the quality of food and entertainment, is why visitors return time after time. Once you have had the Old Lahaina Luau experience, it will be a “must do” every time you visit Maui.
The menu for the evening at the Hawaiian dinner buffet offers you a large variety. You will fi nd Kalua Pig, Maui-style Mahi Mahi, Pulehu Steak, Island-style Chicken, Chicken Long Rice, Mini Lau Lau’s (one of the only, if not only, luaus that serve lau laus), Fresh Baked In-House Taro & Sweet Rolls with a Guava Honey Butter, stir-fried vegetables, Roasted Moloka‘i Sweet Potato, and fried rice. Salads include tossed Kula Greens with Papaya seed or Maui onion dressing, Pohole salad, Taro salad, tropical fruits, or a shrimp and crab salad - all mouthwatering delights. And of course they don’t forget Hawaiian specialties such as Ahi Poke (marinated raw Ahi tuna) or Lomi Lomi salmon (Salmon pieces with tomatoes and onions), the everpresent poi, and taro, and banana bread. If that’s not enough, the desserts are Lilikoi Mousse in Chocolate Cups, Big Island Macadamia Nut Tarts and Haupia (Coconut Pudding).
Executive Chef Lyndon Honda has designed Specialty Menus for Allergies and Diets such as Gluten & Wheat Free, Preservative Free and Vegan Menus. The Vegan Menu features the awardwinning Maui Onion Vegan Fantasy; a dish that features caramelized Maui onion, tofu cakes laced with a roasted Maui onion jus, and topped with raw Maui onion poke. Check out what everyone is talking about. Enjoy the Old Lahaina Luau.
